Facilities
The research at IFIMUP is supported by a diversified set of experimental techniques including: resistance, magnetoresistance, thermopower, Hall effect; specific heat, differential scanning calorimetry, magnetocaloric effect; magnetic moment, magnetization, susceptibility and hysteretic cycles; complex electric susceptibility, pyroelectric effect, hysteresis cycles, piezoelectric resonance; magnetoptics and magnetic imagiology. The constitution of IN allowed the research unit to expanded with a new group on Photonics and Quantum Optics with direct interests in nanotechnologies and nanophysics, and a very active and experienced theoretical physicist in the field of nanomaterials, nanoparticles and nanostructures.
