Computing partnership with FEUP

In a effort to optimise resources, CFP just joined a new infrastructure dedicated to intensive scientific computing. The new cluster is based at FEUP and is shared by 10 research groups, including CFP. For technical specifications please see details.

The cluster consists of 29 compute nodes with a total of 464 cores and 1.9TB of RAM. The addition of HPC class GPUs gives a total floating point performance of 8220 GFLOPS. The total storage capacity of the cluster is 28TB with 14TB available from a central server. Every node in the cluster is connected via a high performance 40Gbps QDR InfiniBand network to provide access to data and enable efficient parallel computations.
